At the beginning of this year I decided that I finally needed to get back into school. I have always wanted to be a nurse
and it's better late than never. I am starting my career as a Registered Nurse but will continue my education to become a
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. This summer I took a class called Introduction to Health Care. This class opened my eyes
to exactly what I will be encountering during my life as a student as well as my life as a nurse. I have learned history
of health care diagnoses and also the history of influential medical professionals who have made such a wonderful contribution
such as Florence Nightingale. I have also been introduced to the aspects of the current health care crisis and the financial
struggles among Americans and affordable health care. I was never aware of the importance of all of the particular Health
Care organizations and Non-profit organizations through out the medical field and with this class I was able to research and
participate with other students and that has made us all aware. With this class we were also taught about safety with in
the workplace and disease control. I have enjoyed this class with out a doubt and I hope that I will continue to learn and
expand my knowledge to help me grow and become the best nurse I can be.
